Our Team

The Bags of Love project was directed by one of its founders, Ms. Margret Henley, for 16 years. She came to know the current directors, Mr. and Mrs. David & Alison Watson, while they were foster parents.

 

After The Watsons adopted a sibling group of four children, Mrs. Watson became a CASA Volunteer and then began working for the KY Foster & Adoptive Parent Support Network at Murray State University, all the while reaching out to Ms. Henley when she heard of a need in the community.

 

When Ms. Henley decided to hand the organization over to the leadership of another family, she immediately thought of David & Alison. The Watson Family has been leading the Bags of Love charity since October 2022.​

 

With backgrounds in business management, non-profit business administration, and foster care, the Watsons are a great fit; and have the heart & desire to grow Bags of Love, so that displaced children and foster families will know they are supported by this wonderful community!

Sadly, Ms. Margret Henley passed away on February 15, 2023. She will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to know her. You may view her obituary here.
